I am so in awe of the work she has done for the people in her country. She truly deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.

Inspired by seeing the Film "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" I have organised a film night as part of International Women's Day On 7th March 2012 here in Birmingham UK. The jubilee Debt |Campaign multi faith project encourages women of all faiths and none to tackle global poverty and international debt by raising awareness and taking political action.
Women no longer need to be the victim and can aspire to follow in these wonderful footsteps.

The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio is currently in a period of discernment regarding establishing a Companion Diocese relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Liberia and have often shown "Pray the Devil Back to Hell" at conventions and in parishes. We are thrilled that Leymah Gbowee has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, an award that she most certainly has earned.

We are interested in bring Ms. Gbowee to Ohio and would appreciate it if you would give us a contact name with whom we can discuss the date and logistics of a visit to Ohio.

Many thanks,

Chris Saunders

I really hope with all my heart and soul that things get better, not only for just women but for the relationships between men and women. Its been a constant battle for women since the begining of time. In this society we live in, prideful, greedy, and jealous men think that women being liberated, justified and empowered as equals is weak and foolish as to say of a woman's nature, resembling something fragile easy to break. But on the contrary a womans nature brings balance, life, growth, harmony and solidity within the foundation of family structure. Some men are intimidated and fearful of women who speak the truth that causes revolution. Invoking world repentance and living under moral and humane laws which are not focus on nuclear power or guns which promote self-destruction.

Thank you for sharing this. The fact that this story has not resulted in more widespread outrage fills me with anger and frustration. Last night I took that anger to my canvas and painted a mandala for the women killed.

I welcome you to visit and see the mandala. I would like to find other ways of honouring these women's stories. If you know of other things that can be done, please let me know. I want to participate, or serve as a catalyst.

The post with the artwork is here: http://sophialeadership.com/2011/03/turning-rage-into-art/

What's new? As always, women are used as tools to subjugate other women. I ask myself, when are we going to wake up and stand up to this patriarcal societies? When are we going to reach to one another and say, "I won't stand for this anymore. I rather die that to continue to support a system made for men by men." And we the givers of life? To hell with us.
